Club currency checks post ppl

I had a slightly frustrating day prior to this flight, where I had booked the Cessna out, but found out on arrival that I had actually gone over the 35 days which I have to fly within under club rules, so was now not allowed to take the Cessna, or the PA-28 up until I had had a check flight with an instructor, and none were available that day.

Club rules say you have to fly at least every 35 days, and each type at least once every two months.

After waiting a while longer for a good weather day, where an instructor was also available, I decided to take the PA-28 up for the check flight, so I could get a little more experience in it, my dad came along in the back again, and we went up and did 4 ordinary circuits, they were not too bad considering I haven’t flown now for around two months. Slight bump on a couple of the landings, but in this case, it was not quite such a problem because, for the first time I was flying off the shorter runway 24, and so we needed to get the aircraft on the ground at the right point, rather than trying to do it smoothly.

After the flight, I was then signed off and allowed to fly the PA-28 again, however while waiting for the weather to improve, it’d also now been more than two months since I’d flown a Cessna, so I have to do another check flight in that one as well! It seems a little crazy that I have over 60hrs in the Cessna, only about 5 in the PA-28, but I’m currently allowed to fly the PA-28 and not the Cessna!
