Ferry flight post ppl
01 Apr 2010Another ferry flight opportunity, this time a little different though, as it was just an aircraft that needed collecting from Exeter rather than a drop-off and pickup like last time. I was out of club check on the PA28, and there was another student who it’d be a great experience for. So the plan was that I’d fly up with an instructor in the PA28, to do the club check, and in the back would be the other student, and one of my friends who tagged along for the ride.
Once we got to Exeter, the instructor and student would jump out, and get into the other plane to fly it back, and my friend and I fly the PA28 back again. So that’s what we did!
The flight up was largely uneventful, as was the flight back, but as we came back into Plymouth again, the winds had picked up, and there was a strong a quite gusty crosswind, which took quite a bit of effort to counter and made the landing quite challenging.
My friend filmed the return trip, and you can see how gusty it was on the approach!
